@FourthDimensionAnim ... no, I was talking about this one. my comment was in response to someone else saying that the lyrics in the 2007 album were better, to which I responded that I thought these ones (the original off-broadway ones) were better.

@floatinroundmytincan This actually is the original New York cast. You must be thinking of the soundtrack recording, which is a different cast.

why is this so much different than the cast recording?? the lyrics and harmonies are so much different. i dont like it and they made it too comical rather than keeping the humor subtle. plus they outright say he's gay rather than letting the jokes explain it.

It's weird listening to this version of the song, being so familiar with the studio cast recording which was done 3 years later... how different some of the music is.
