Lol. This is making those criminals know what to expect. They're gonna stand a few feet away. And if they were going to shoot you in the first place, they wouldnt have made a show of it

This is ridiculously irresponsible to say that the weapon probably wont fire! It will fire and the front sight will tear through all the tendons in your hand, and all the attacker has to do is cycle the action while you're in shock and shoot you assuming the first shot didn't hit you.
If you're in a situation where grabbing the gun is the last resort, you should learn how to properly grab it, or accept that the hand you use, is going to be useless for the rest of the fight.
