Yeah, it doesn't explain a lot. But as an audience it's like when a lot of a character isn't exposed and has little explained about them that we are left to figure it out on our own. Though since they did start with how we got here through news it's stupid.

I love Doug, but if he hates this movie for being unoriginal, then by that logic, Star Wars and Fistful of Dollars, which ripped off Hidden Fortress and Yojimbo respectively, are terrible.

I seriously thought it was a comedy until halfway in the movie. Not kidding. This was pretty much exactly what I thought.
