stunning because "why can't i say that sincerely?" and the resulting exchange was actually a flub on ryan gosling's part and they left it in simply because it worked.

@coldbluerain ... most likely because every "drug movie" (like Requiem For A Dream for example) always takes it to an almost ridiculous extreme. The characters usually end up homeless and sucking dick for hits. But in real life many people who struggle with addiction don't end up as crack head prostitutes. They have to try and balance jobs and family life with their addictions. I think it's great that this movie showed a more realistic (but equally tragic) side of addiction.
