I loved this and can totally relate to much of what was said. And to @qstyk - taking big risks & going for it will usually seem "reckless" to those who prefer to be comfortable. There's no right or wrong - just personal preferences and choices that we each make.

@qstyk Just an FYI...I didn't 'drive my son away' - He's 18 and moved out to go to California where he followed his own dreams. He's actually pretty proud of me. :)

I believe there is a certain level of recklessness that is necessary for venturing into unchartered waters. I've never lost a bet on my gut before. I was told recently, "The difference between successful and unsuccessful entrepreneurs is that the successful ones hung in there."

I really wanted to like this speech, but I disagree with at least 80% of the assumptions it was founded on. What she calls 'all in,' I call reckless. I'm all for red-lining it to knock something loose, but when you're going to be kicked to the curb and you've driven your son away, it's time to cut your losses. I think this speech was her seeking validation for her choices in life, not an attempt to educate.

Honest. From the heart and soul. Yes yes yes. It's the passion and vision to be something awesome no matter what the result. This is the gymnasium where we work out and refine ourselves as human beings. The law of karma is that there will be great results... they may not be the results YOU have in mind right now. But you can be sure something awesome will come of this.

I didn't enjoy most of the speech.

At most times it seems hopeless to be an entrepreneur, there is a glimmer of hope in audacity. In the end the sun comes out from behind the clouds, and shines hope on the hopeless. With the quote from Tara and Apple, "And it's the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, who actually do!" brilliant finish.

As I was watching and listening I thought of the poem by Shel Silverstein, "Invitation" the first time I experienced it was listening to a CD and when I heard it I thought, I am the "magic bean buyer" and now that I listen to Tara, entrepreneurs are magic bean buyers.
