  • i'd really like a copy of this film! my grandma was the mermaid for all the underwater filming, it wasn't Glynis doing the stuntwork.

not sure why i'm writing this as a youtube post, i doubt anyone will believe me.

but it's true! i've got photo's of her in the latex tail and everything...

  • That's sounds cool. As I said a friend of mine - sadly now gone - trained the sea lions in the film. Both the films are not on officially DVD but got this is from a copy transfer I got on eBay so it's worth a look on there.

  • Have been searching for a copy of this film for years - part was filmed in my home village in Cornwall - does any one know where I might obtain a copy

  • It's a wonderful film. I got copies from eBay in the UK transferred from VHS. I think both the films are not available on DVD at the moment.

  • @tubowski No, I believe you; you never know what kind of people you could run into on YouTube!!!!

  • @tubowski I just found out that VCI will release Miranda on dvd on July 5, 2011, and it's available for pre-order from Amazon in the US! Also, the color sequel, All About Men, is available in a boxed set from Amazon in the UK, but you'll need a multi-region dvd player for the UK purchase. Great movies. That's so cool that your grandma played Miranda for the under water scenes. Awesome.

  • ty for this film clip i did a google search and it said it was never relesed on video

i will try ebay ty again great movie

  • I think the man wheeling her about in this film also played her husband in Mary Poppins!

  • Thanks for your reply. I'll have at look at places that might be able to convert from vhs to dvd.

It would make a great gift for my mother. My grandmother has sadly also passed, i still have photos of her with Johnny Weissmuller and various Mermaid photos!!!

  • Thanks for replying - I recently visited the TCM web site as they often show older films but it is not featured at present - I will try ebay as you have suggested - very grateful for your response
