Located in southeastern North Carolina on Private property, the Brick Mill cemetery, very possibly the largest and oldest continously used all African American Cemetery in the county, has been in operation since ca.1897. Validated by community and family oral history, the dates and number of graves(300+/-) surpasses any other cemetery of its kind in the immediate regions of the county.
This is a privately funded preservation project and is located on private non-accessable land. Contact Jack Robinson, exclusive caretaker and historian for the project. He is hopeful that viewers of this tape understand that he is conducting the project at his own expense and that although he is not a "Not-For-Profit" entity the viewew understands the significant funds required for such a massive but, meaningful project.
Dear Bigman 980
Your post is rather unique and a bit harsh. I do believe that everyone who desires to post a serious comment is welcomed to do so without exception.
I will leave your post open for others to read. With your help we can work together to bring more attention in the need to preserve all cemeteries no matter where they may be located.
Bests wishes,
Jack Robinson,
