@kanumbra Yeh I only found out because I read some articles about it. Her name is Blondie I believe :). Probably because having real stallions would be too hard to train for a movie and to have around all the other horses. They can be kind of aggressive.

@AndSingForeverToYou yeah, we tend to find beauty in the horses we've trained and bred to be beautiful - not the ones that are free. its a different kind of beauty - but in a movie theyd want to show them as beautiful and brumbies arent the most stunning of horses. and yeah also ones that are trained - it would be near impossible to work with real brumbies! ahaha i didnt even realise he was a mare, ill have to watch it again haha

@kanumbra ahhh true that. But I guess 'cos it was a movie they just got whatever horses they could train. :). I mean funnily enough the horse that played Thowra was a mare, not even any form of male horse whatsoever. lol.

@AndSingForeverToYou they have a less desireble conformation haha. because theyre not bred like other horses, theyre a bit of everything - it doesnt always go together. theyre not very tall, usually have quite big heads on short necks. im not saying theyre ugly, but they dont look like that haha.
