http://www.alexismartinneely.com -- Last week, one of my good friends, Bryan Franklin, tweeted this: "I noticed that the speakers with $1-$3M businesses were fascinated with marketing, and the speaker with $100M biz was fascinated with customers." I gave it some thought and recognized that he was right AND that there is a good reason for it based on the lifecycle of the entrepreneurial business.

Pre-$1m, we often don't even know WHO our customer is. Once we hit $1m-3m of revenue it's generally because we've figured it out and our focus shifts to how we can be systematically seen by that person to support and maintain the business model we've built around that customer. And to make it to the $100m, we will need to make another shift, which is now not just about being seen, but about really being felt by that customer. I explain in this video.

Thanks to Bryan Franklin and Jonathan Fields for provoking more thought on this topic.
