I don't bother telling people I'm an atheist till they start assuming I'm not one. I was an atheist before I even knew what an atheist was- I feel like I was born one. The few times I went to church beyond the very first time was forced. You could put it as I was smart enough as a kid to know brainwashing when I saw it. One of the most irritating points in my life was watching Facing the Giants in class and not being allowed to leave... if I didn't like the teacher, I would have screamed at her.

I lost respect for thunderf00t a long time ago, and it was for very similar reasons. I remember him getting into a slagging match with Coughlan, all because Coughlan called out Pat Condell on his nationalist crap. TF hated that "one of our own" would "attack" another, and that we should all stick together and represent each other, regardless of any other opinions or views. I thought the whole point in being a free thinker was to think freely as an individual?

i remember that incident and i was with Pat, because i liked his ideas, not because we were all on the same "boat" but because i like his ideas, but seeing him organize this stupid rally with his buddy just reminds me of Glenn Beck and his rally earlier. either thunderf00t is doing this just to fit in or he's gotten carried away by the feeling of telling other people off, and belonging to something bigger than yourself, just like many other YT atheist. ironic.

What is your objection to the rally? We are individuals? Your whole argument comes down to what? Atheists should stay individuals and never form a group and never be represented by their government? Who said atheists should only elect other atheists? Your idea of the reason rally is beyond absurd. Few "reasons" for the rally:

1. Help closet atheist come out.

2. Show America we exist.

3. Break taboos.

4. Show political leaders we have a say.

5. Have fun in an event with like minded people.

The point of the rally is not to pick a presidential candidate. Sure, there might be a candidate that we, as rational individuals, tend to largely favor based on several metrics of measurement that we all share; to my knowledge after having followed this event since November, there will be little to no endorsement of an "atheist" party candidate, and the National Atheist Party only has a small sponsorship. The larger point of the event is to unite our voices for once.

I came to this vid wanting to hate it, but although there was some things i disagree with i found myself warming to it the more i watched. TFs perceived elitism & affected intellectualism (Especially with his speech) have been what has stopped me from liking him as much as i did. He doesn't make as many good (or bad) videos anymore either. Unfortunately any self critique by YT Atheists is jumped on by mindless YT Xians as a weakness in our arguments against the existence of God/s. Conflate much?
