The most notable thing about the perry class is it's survivablity on may 17 1987 the USS Stark was struck by two iraqi exocent anti-ship missle's
which was proven in test to sink a ship in one hit but the Stark took two and was still floating. After beinng assisted by the Guided Missle Destroyer USS Coontz DDG-40 which provided fire crews the Stark under tow was taken back to port and repaired

Worked as a draftsman back in '84 -'88 for Gibbs & Cox on the design blueprints of the FFG-7 class frigate . Miss those days!!
