The Wappinger Greenway Trail is a network of walking and hiking trails in and around the Towns of Poughkeepsie and Wappinger and the Village of Wappingers Falls, all three of which are located in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley region of New York. These trails connect various sites of natural, cultural, historic, and economic interest. Through the hard work of volunteers, over 10 miles of trails have been created, with further expansion planned for a the future. This is part of the larger Hudson Valley Greenway system, which aims to connect sites like these all throughout the Hudson Valley region.
The music featured is the song "Page's Jig" by Pleasant Valley musician Helen Avakian from her album "Vanishing Point." Thanks to Helen for permission to use her wonderful music!
That's a good question. I'm not actually sure about funding since this has been a recent volunteer venture for me and I'm not directly involved with the Greenway Committee. As far as pedestrian/bike paths, I know the Wappinger trails are more geared towards hikers rather than cyclists.

Will there be special footpaths and bicycle paths. I know that there is big funding for this by the NYS DOT given by the way of grants to different local Greenway committees for their municipalities project.
