@gmp i think its pretty safe to say that while the first kiss that we saw was in season 5, they were officially a couple at least by "new moon rising" (season 4, ep.19).

yeah, technically tara is introduced on the show in season 4, during the episode "hush" but they don't officially become a couple until the season 4 episode "new moon rising" :)

I have seen the whole angel series cause of cordelia...i thought cordelia was just so cute..then i found out cordelia was also at sunndale..wich i thought was pretty neat so now i really want to watch buffy..for also buffy and willow/tara, and that awesome cordelia. she is just so adorable....but i will absolutely start watching buffy. it should be an interesting series...oh yeah, have to watch from the begin too confusing about people comig in med show...1st season next...Thanks. what season does their story start? I would love to see the series...i will start with season 1 but i am wondering about the willow/tara story? When does willow meet Buffy...do they meet in the 1st season? info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah Willow meets Buffy in the first season when Buffy moves to Sunnydale from LA.
The Willow/Tara relationship starts in season 4, when Willow and Buffy go to College.. Not straight away though..They properly get together in season 5 as a couple but you may as well get the whole background by watching from season 1. Because I recomend it just because Buffy as a whole is ace!
Also,when people from earlier seasons return you'l know who they are and it'l just make more sense.
