wow, This is an old scam. In Twain Harte, Ca a dude who lived in a house noted the commings/going of owners of vacation homes (Out on Labor Day/back on Memorial Day) summer homes. The guy rented out four homes to people and when the owners came back on Memorial Day guess what. There homes were being lived in. The guy who collected the rent was, by then, long gone. I guess the sheriff put out a warrant, but they still had not found the faux landlord..almost 40 years later (warrant still active
