When I bought my laptop(sony vaio fw-41m/h) 2 years ago i almost immediately installed windows 7 myself. Since the beginning I had this mouse stuttering problem. I previously minimized this effect by lowering the graphics settings ingame and setting my mouse polling frequency from 500Hz to 125Hz. If you want to get your mouse to stutter:
- get a high cpu usage by the game, so using the windows power options set your max cpu frequency a bit lower, something like 75%. (control panel - power options- change plan settings-advanced-processor power management -max - plugged in - 75%
In source engine games you should enable multi-cpu rendering in the advanced graphics options for more cpu usage.Disabling raw mouse input also increases stutter in these games
- Set your mouse polling rate to the max(in my case 1000Hz with my logitech g5). I changed that setting in setpoint.
Today i formatted my hdd and re-installed windows 7. I was searching what caused the stuttering and after each driver install i started tf2 and tested if i got the stuttering. After installing the vaio drivers i my mouse began to stutter in games. I tried the windows 7(version 5.0.0.08040) and vista (version 4.3.0.13190) versions of the vaio event service, both make your mouse stutter.
The only solution I have to remove the mouse stutter is stopping the vaio event service. If you stop the vaio event service the special Fn keys stop working.
You can stop the service by following this steps:
- In the start menu, type the following in the search box and press enter afterwards: services.msc
- Go to the vaio event service and press stop.
omg Harm xD
What a fix!
