the original version of the beautiful ballad, "The Hills of South Armagh", by its Irish author, Briege Murphy, taken from the album, "The Longest Road"
@symphusion I heard it in Galway as well . It was sung by Don Stiffe who is competing in the All Ireland Talent Show at the moment .His voice really suited the song
I heard this song in 2000 in a Galway session and thought it was gorgeous. Its been 10 years since I heard it.....(and Ive really tried pretty hard to find it) and I'm not disappointed. This is a modern day classic in my opinion !
