University High School Marching Band 1980 Spokane Wa - Moscow Idaho Competition October 1979

This is an audio recording of the 1980 University High School Marching Band from Spokane Wa at the October 1979 Moscow Idaho Marching Band Competition. We played Nuttville(Pancho - Vibe Solo, Mike Jydstrup -Trumpet solo), Legend Of A One Eyed Saylor (Scot Auble -Trumpet solo, Daniel Owens -Mellophone solo and Mike Jydstrup -Trumpet Solo) and Let It Be Me (Bruce -Baritone solo). Boy did I love playing Mellophone on "Legend Of A One Eyed Sailor!" It was a blast!

Gary Green had videos of all our material. I remember a big ol RCA VHS camera. We would get videotaped and review the results afterwards. I would LOVE to find footage from 1980 to 1983. Wondering if maybe the tapes may be archived at U-High Music Dept someplace? I might go and check.

Interesting recording. I was a music student then at Idaho--I was one of the judges gophers--I had to run field scores up to the scoring box. Mike Jydstrup was in the Renaissance Drum and Bugle Corp with me back then too!
