One of the best and cheapest things you can do to get in shape and loss weight is shadow boxing,
The best way to learn something is to copy a professional. I learned most of my skills, not from the boxing trainers that trained me, and I've been trained by the best in the world, But it was the fighters that I fought with that I learned the most from, by doing what they were doing was my best teacher.
The important thing to remember when shadow boxing is, pretend you are fighting someone. Everytime you make a offensive move you have got to make a defensive move. The same goes for defensive moves, make your counter punch move and practice it over and over. Shadow boxing is the one thing you can do anywhere and its a great exercise as well.
