  • This is a nice overview. Thanks :) Also the Bible doesn't specify the style of the covering or whether it should cover all the hair, etc etc so it seems like devotion, modesty, and obedience could be expressed in many appropriate ways.

  • @zeebs19 ...your welcome... I agree

  • I just read the passage from 1 Corinthians that says that women should cover their heads while in prayer. But can you provide a Biblical foundation for why women should veil all the time? I am simply asking an honest question because I would like to live as the Lord says that I should (meaning what he told us thru His prophets and Son).

  • @animeodyssey15... 1) In 1 Corinthians it say Pray covered and in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 it says pray without ceasing In his letter to the Philippians, Paul commands us to stop being anxious and instead, “in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6). He taught the believers at Colossae to devote themselves “to prayer, being watchful and thankful” (Colossians 4:2).

  • @animeodyssey15 ...2) Paul exhorted the Ephesian believers to see prayer as a weapon to use in fighting spiritual battles (Ephesians 6:18). As we go through the day, prayer should be our first response to every fearful situation, every anxious thought, and every undesired task that God commands. A lack of prayer will cause us to depend on ourselves instead of depending on God's grace. Unceasing prayer is, in essence, continual dependence upon and communion with the Father.

  • The vows are that of a nun, not a layman christian.

  • @dafish82 ... Well I don't see anything wrong with Veiling

  • Nice job :) Shalom

  • Please stop pushing your still very real Muslim dress code on Rome! Some people may take offense to what I am going to say & I'm sorry for that but I gotta say it.I'm a European American & proud of it! Stop trying to make everybody be the new "in"trend of the Middle East. If I want to cover my head I'll wear a hat!

  • @FormerMPSGT

You challenge St. Paul? So only SOME parts of the bible are to be followed? SOME parts are "more true" than others? And Jesus gave instructions for slaves. Turn on your TV. You still have chaplains who are hypocrites.

  • @TheVeiledCatholic this doesn't fit, because Paul talks about veiling in church if speaking or praying or prophesying and in his time all respectable women were veiled, all girls over 14 were married, etc. men's hair grows as fast as women's, you could argue the beard was a covering for them and wear veiling in front for them. it is a cultural issue. nature as we use the term is not relevant. the key issue was modesty and not looking like Christianity was a sex cult

  • God died for your sake, God cannot be killed even for a min.

  • The veil is to protect women from demons (fallen angels) - women are for some reason more vulnerable to these demons - so the veil is there to protect their heads - and only need to be worn when a woman praying and or prophesysing. It has nothing to do with modesty in the sense of wordly modesty - the obedience is for protection - not for obedience sake in worldly terms.

  • I didn't even know wearing headscarves was a christian thing. I thought it was just something people used to do a long time ago.

  • @varkkha Please ....find more fact in bible....after veil may be ..how jesus pray...insyallah u will come closer to God and He will came closer to u.

  • masyallah...my dear christian friends even you don't except the islam but following the truth from ur bible is very good thing...becoz in Al quran said

And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book(christian and jews), those who believe in God,in the revelation(Al quran) to you, and in the revelation(their holy book) to them, bowing in humility to God.They will not sell the Signs of God for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and God is swift in account.(Quran 3:199)
