Great video.

Carey is a bona fides champion, bottom line.

But, he is no Gary Ablett.

I have seen both and for sheer exhilaration & expectation, you can't go past Ablett.

Just the feeling of anticipation you would get when he was on the ground was enough to give you a high.

Carey was exciting to go and see also, just to a lesser extent.

If you like clinical, dominating, textbook football then Carey is your man.

But if you like surprises, freakish actions & sensational memories, then it's Ablett.

Well said but I don't totally agree.....Only reason i say this is because Carey was sensatinonal and freakish in many ways. I never saw a man being triple teamed before Carey....The moment the ball was heading down towards him 3 people would run to cover him and yet he would still beat them, That has gotta be kinda freakish....I do agree Ablett was more amazing with what he could pull out of his bag but I doubt anyone would argue having either player in their team.

Yes five did.  But 4 played all their games at full forward. Ablett was the only one who played most of his games on a wing or forward flank. And he won his 3 Coleman Medals starting at the age of 33. Carey was well finished by that age.

Great mark. But why did he take so many on his chest? Only one player ever kicked over 1000 goals who never played all his career at full forward. Guess who. The same player was never sat on his arse by anyone. Carey was king but he wasn't called God.

When you have some of the greats, like Barassi, Matthews, Skilton and even Louie the Lipp with some of the great one eyed and some of the greatest knockers like Sam Newman, Eddie Mcguire to name a few to turn around and say that Carey has been the Greatest of their time then what else is there to say.???
