If you want to speak Thai correctly, verb to be is one of the very first basic things to understand since it is completely different from English.

You can find more explanation and sentence examples here: http://www.learnthaiwithmod.com/2012/01/learn-thai-understand-thai-verb-to-be/

The first verb to be lesson is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4QxF5Ap3XA

  • How do I ask "Where Am I?" or "Where are we now?" I often want to ask this on buses, but I am not sure how to say it. Can you help me please?

  • @tiglilly

I for male speaker is "pom", so you can use the pattern I taught in this video "SUBJECT + yuu + tii-nai?" = pom yuu tii-nai?

We in Thai is "rao", so you get "rao yuu tii-nai?" for where are we?

  • @LearnThaiwithMod sawadeekub pee.. pom plain kon singapore na krub.. pee poot pasar angrit geng mak loei.. pee rain pasar angrit tee nai kub? pom ann pasar thai mai dai.. poot dai yang diao 555

  • @phaeman Sawatdee ka Nong, nong puut paa-saa tai geng maak ka. pee rian paa saa angrit jaak nang farang ka;)

  • Kruu Mod:

Can you omit the preposition BON (on) as you omit the preposition TEE (at)?

For example, can you say: Tee wee yuu dto

without the bon after the yuu? Is it correct?

    Kob khun mak na krab.

  • @latira100 You cannot drop other propositions as 'tee' (at). It is not correct ka.

  • how old are you?

  • Hi Mod, thanks for great videos!

I have advice: if you explain a new thai phrase for us, say slow first as usual and then say it fast (as you would say in real life). I want to hear how those sound really :)

  • Now I learned from you how to say "to be somewhere". I also would like to know how to say "to go somewhere" par example: I go home - they go to their work - she goes to hospital - do you go home? - do they go to work? - does she go to hospital?- Where you going?.

Thanks for your excellent lessons and explanation!
