This is a custom Digital Audio Workstation that we built from recycled machines here at Southeastern Data. It utilizes Ubuntu Studios and Intel P4 HT 2.6GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, and 80GB hard drive dual DVD drives a GeForce4 Ti-4200 and a Sound Blaster CT 4780 Audio card. All of this was put inside of a server chassis that we had in our warehouse. This project was used to show the effectiveness of recycled and reused computer equipment and to show how it can be re-used in ways that most people don't typically think of, such as making a professional quality Audio/Video workstation.

Keep an eye out as we add more video's of other uses for recycled electronic equipment!

  • What are the applications you are using? I am using Cubase with VST's on Windows currently but i want to switch to Linux. I havent found any program that would fit my needs in audio editting.
