@TouchOfGreatness Most professional historians (repeat, PROFESSIONAL) regard his methods as flawed and revisionist. Surprising? Hardly. Just another religious authoritarian with no logic, just an agenda to turn this country back several centuries.
Interesting how those defending David Barton give him authority for owning a pile of rather insignificant documents. Does Barton own any of the thousands of letters by Jefferson? Any of the tousands of congressional records? And if he bought all of them someday, that would change - what? The contents of the documents do not change with ownership. Such a fallacy used by Barton and propogated by his apologists reveals that understand little about textual and historical criticism.
I don`t know if Jefferson started church services at the Capitol or John Adams did. However Church services were held at the U.S. Capitol building from the time it was built until the late 1860`s early 1870`s when the church holding services there built their own building.
Mr. Barton has the writings of the founding fathers, actual documents and diary records of the founders from the library of congress. Those documents far out weigh this woman opinions based on 'feelings' or her emotional speculation. Notice when she reads this is from HER writings, her OPINIONS, again no factual documentation. She seems obsessed with this and it appears it is an unhealthy thing indeed.
You didn't prove your point except to prove that David Barton mis-spoke when he gave the wrong name for the Speaker of the House, which you also state DW later corrected on the Wallbuilders' website.
The truth about Jefferson approving the motion to hold church in the Chamber is valid. How about correcting your error--publicly?

Exactly. Any notion that this was anything more than "meh, OK, use the chamber" is a liar.

This woman is obsessed with disproving David Barton and Glenn Beck. She has no legitimacy. "Liars for Jesus"??? Really? Get a life lady.
