C64 hardware: 1541 Ultimate - video captured from a real Commodore 64

This is not a review.
I've captured this video from a real C64 which is equiped with the 1541 Ultimate cartridge.

What is it? Quote from the official website:
" The '1541 Ultimate' is a storage solution for your Commodore home computer, such as the C64, C128, C plus4, C16, etc. This piece of hardware implements a 'real' 1541 diskdrive for Commodore computers, and is capable of storing the floppy disks on a modern SD-card, or MMC-card. It contains a replica of all the necessary hardware to be fully compatible with a real drive. "

Sounds good doesn't it? As you can see in the video; it really is good!

@psyjax YAY! I must get myself one of these, but they are pricey! Costs more than my vintage commodore did ;)

Perhaps I will attempt to build one using the schematics.

yes, works realy fine. i never find a game that not runs. search for "1541u" on youtube, there are 4 videos with "mmc vs 1541u". One of this german videos I have translate in english language (believe 3/4), this video contains the Informations u want.

You also don't get the unique and genuine feeling of loading from a real disk drive. Handy, sure - but so are emulators..

It can load nearly everything! I have one and it is really great hardware. There is no need for a floppy drive anymore

Can it load the Multi-load programs? What about the turbo-loaders?

verry handy that device. now you don't need all your floppy's to get gaming.
