  • Where did you find the video of the Arlington Police car? I think that is my father and would like to see if there is any more film.

  • I did this video a long, long time ago. I think we got the footage from the local TV stations

  • my dad's friend died in this blizzard in holyoke ma

  • This storm stalled at the Northeast for 2-3 days. The reason why because of a High Pressure in Southeastern Canada. The Low Pressure tried to go through, but it couldn't because the High Pressure was standing it's ground for 48-72 hours and there was a negative tilt which deepens the storms strength. The result of this gave NYC 20" of Snow, Boston- nearly 3 Feet of snow Providence, RI- 55" of Snow. This study put me one step closer to being a Meteorologist.

  • damn that was serious... my mom was stuck in a hospital giving birth to my sister lol

  • I lived minutes away from the highway in West Wood Ma.....It was crazy.....

  • Last thing i ever wanna think about is snow...it's warmer now

  • Snowmobile Heaven!

  • people were trapped in schools for weeks..blizzards today are a thumbtack compared to '78

  • I was 12 and growing up in Indiana . It was an unbelievable situation with drifts as high as houses. After the first day they proceeded to cancel school for a week. We were ecstatic! We finally were off for a week and a couple days. The other thing that sticks in my mind is immediately after the storm the temperatures plummeted and were blistering cold, below zero.

  • My mom was one of those stranded motorists on 128 and my dad left his car at the Riverside T stop in Newton and couldn't find it when he left work early.

  • I was 23 living in Middleboro Ma....no lights...no phones...no deliveries...no cars allowed on the roads...nothing but snow...it snowed for 32 hours straight...

winds over 75 mph....the National Guard would pick you up at a designated area and take you to the store....so you could buy what they had left...it was an amazing thing to live through...the one good thing to come out of it???...people helped each other...people looked out for each other....

  • @MasterMark123 Was Sporters on Beacon Hill?

  • @MasterMark123 - Sporters, was that on Beacon Hill? My brother and his partner who frequented the bar in the 80's took me there for a drink, it was interesting to say the least, but they were very friendly.
