  • @BrinaaNicholee O wow thats your mother. What she said nearly brought me to tears because in the end it is all about the kids and whats best for them. The truth is that intergration wasnt a big deal to kids because kids naturally get along with other races (until their parents fill their head with racist garbage). But congrajulations I know u must be soo proud of your mother. such an accomplished woman

  • The little girl in this video who speaks on how the treatment isn't fair is Joanne Nichols (my mother). Who would have known that, that same little girl would grow up to be a Northeastern University Graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing Science, and currently in school for her Masters Degree. She is a three time business owner/entrepreneur, Registered Nurse for the VA Medical Center (10 years), and her greatest achievement of all, the loving mother to two beautiful daughters! I♥U

  • @BrinaaNicholee This may seem like a really random question but I'm doing a junior thesis and I want to use a quote from your mom, would it be possible for you to tell me what school she was being bused to and what neighborhood she lived in. It would help me SOOO much, you don't even know. But if you can't that is fine.

  • 8:18 - cute attention whore boy

  • Thanks for this neutral report. It shined light on the dynamics involved that lead to the Busing decision. One has to know and understand the pieces which brought about forced busing.

  • Great video! If you like this, you should read Rebound. Great book, great vid

  • @BrinaaNicholee That is wonderful to see....like your mom, I went to Boston Public schools back then as well...and to tell you the truth, the younger kids were pretty cool...what messed things up were the adults & older teens that were spewing hatred....not to mentioned it was all over TV & radio....as someone who grew up in Boston and worked for one of it's Mayors, I must say that the city has come a long way when it comes to race relations/racial tolerance since then....

  • As someone who grew up in Boston during the 70's (busing era) and went to Boston public schools during that time...I would like to thank you and commend you for a job well done.

  • I am Filipino. I can never understand why America is so hard to understand.

  • @brsfan66 Yeah, but instead they decided to leave it at sending kids from impoverished Roxbury to equally impoverished Southie and vice-versa. Not one of Boston's ruling class advocated busing kids from Southie and Roxbury to their middle-class and upper-class public and private schools and vice-versa. Kind of makes you wonder who the true racists are.
