This is one of the greatest arias of the 18th century. But the tempo here is obscenely fast, in my humble oppinion this should be taken as slowly as the singer's capabilities allow. This aria is the representation of dying breath leaving the body. I think Bartoli's version for example is more than 11 minutes long. This one here is by far the fastest out of those I've heard and as a result it almost manages to sound like an ordinary aria from that period.

Yes, but Kozena's voice is beautiful, however I agree that this should be a little more slow =)

Indeed, there's nothing bad to say about the singing here. This aria suits the mezzo voice well - though in general the part of Gluck's Sesto is more of a soprano thing, I think.

In some points I agree with you. I usually prefer slower tempos in arias of this kind but on the other hand this version is the one where I can leave my point of view for a while. Magdalena's voice is so beautiful and the whole sound is so crystal clear, so pure, that while listening to this I can't do anything but sit and let it amaze me.

Wonderful! A lot of charm and elegance... No wonder that I like Kožená very much...
