Queensland's Treasurer, Tim Nichols, today came out in support of a change to the GST to include items bought online and overseas that cost under $1000.

Mr Nichols is in Canberra at the moment, taking his case to Federal Treasurer, Joe Hockey.

While members of the retail sector are calling this an overdue change - some consumer groups say it won't work to boost the retail sector.
