  • This definitely beats watching the PBA with the current state they are in.

  • @DTrainExpress I wonder how on earth they got themselves into such a mess when other sports are getting increased funding

  • @DTrainExpress Yes, you have just echoed my sentiments. I do believe that her track is higher than most other bowlers, and tilting her axis slightly should increase the angle of entry to complement her good speed and roll. But, whatever, you can't deny that she is irresistably cute (^_^).

  • @Japanophilia1 My guess with Aki Nawa is that she is a semi-roller, but with a very high track. Would love to see what her game would look like if she just tilted her axis just a touch, because having that little axis rotation has to limit her on some lane conditions. Don't get me wrong, she still throws the ball pretty damn good.

Would be curious on what type of shot they bowl and it's ironic that they use 59 and 60 (same as the infamous Showboat TV pair).

  • @DTrainExpress Yes, they have a similar release. Michelle can probably throw a pound or so heavier, lol. The P league bowlers have a variety of styles, making the show interesting to watch. Miki Nikimura spins the ball, but unlike the Taiwanese helicopters, her track is slightly larger, so her ball hooks and thus has a wider angle of entry, while still retaining lateral carry. And there is also Aki Nawa whose release I cannot guess from the trajectory of her ball. Is she a full roller?

  • @Japanophilia1 I can see that comparison between the two.....although Suzuna is probably about one-third the size of Michelle Feldman. Hell, I would call Himeji a "power tweener".

  • @Japanophilia1 Well, I think it goes back when they went to the "exempt tour" around 2002 where they made it so regional guys and even local guys couldn't bowl in events except for the majors. Not to add that the "so-called" World Series of Bowling has made it where it is a Las Vegas tour. The final nail in the coffin is most the events are either going to be tape delayed or be shown on Xtra Frame, which costs $70 to watch on your computer.

It's just a sorry state of affairs right now.

  • @Nelvin78 Yes, I do indeed find the P league much more interesting than the now defunct PWBA. Not only are they cute, but the Japanese girls are really good at the sport. In time, I do believe that there will be many more fans from around the world who will come to know of this great tournament

  • @Japanophilia1 Its as simple as "give us something we want to watch". I dont know much Japanese but you dont have to in order to apprieciate what is being offered here. I dont care how many strikes a Michelle Feldman can throw, or even if she shoots a 300 on TV. You offer the American public Tish Johnson and Michelle Feldman, and we're turning the channel to watch Gilligans Island re-re-re-runs. We have proven that year after year, wise up American Bowling !

  • @CooLDsteR Yes, usually. That's why my jaw dropped when I first saw her. Suzuna has a 'saw that' smile after she throws a good shot, lol

  • @Doza418 Me too. She is so cool. I hope she will do well in the Women's World Cup in Hong Kong this September

  • @yugioh4japh I thought so too. And she has straightened her hair :)
