EASIEST way : how to JB on firmware 3.1.2 with BLACKRA1N + ways to eliminate problems while jailbreaking.
✔ iPod Touch 1G *✔ -iPhone 2G
✔ iPod Touch 2G *✔ -iPhone 3G
**✔ iPod Touch 3G (TETHERED)
*✔ -iPhone 3GS

My suggestion is not to use this to jailbreak if you already have your device jailbroken at 3.0 +, not many differences.

IMPORTANT NOTES :
*1) as of RC3 (nov 3) blackra1n will UNLOCK iphone 3g/3gs!!
**2) ipod 3g is tethered jailbreak only for now, which means if you turn off your ipod by accident you'll need to run blackra1n again to activate the ipod.
3) restore the device to a clean firmware will reduce errors later on.
4) shut off all itunes processes before running BR to reduce errors later on.
5) See annotations in the video if you have a problem.

UPDATED MAY 2nd, 2010 - added error fix.

UPDATED NOV 3 :
- as of RC3 blackra1n will UNLOCK iphone 3g/3gs!!

UPDATED OCT 25th :
- New models of ipod touch with model starting with MC is now supported in BlackRa1n RC2 (version 2)

UPDATED OCT 13th :
- reports of new iphone 3gs that apple is releasing that is not jailbreakable.
- iPod touch with model number starting with MC does not work with this jailbreak, you'll get a black screen.
