@blacklightposter I´m fan of spacemen 3 as some of my fiends are too, Spacemen 3 is cult classic, a visionary band while Darkside sounds just like a cool sixties psychodelic revival band. I heard Darkside few times and i don´t remember a single song. They had a very generic sound, nothing like spacemen 3. Spiritualized 2 first albums were awesome, now are plain boring. To me the spiritual succesor is Sonic Boom/Spectrum.

Great stuff. Although it did distress my border collie.

except to say that The Darkside weren't a Spacemen 3 spin off.

@blacklightposter absolutely, The darkside were fantastic. Nick is a great bloke too, after he left The Darkside he formed a band called Flite 118 which I eventually joined on bass when I was just 17. It didn't last long but that was a great chance. We played The Darkside songs. One of my favourite tracks I can't get hold of now though was called "Ocean Of Fire".

It's Black To Comm by the MC5

Maybe some of you should look into finding The Darkside "a Spacemen3 spin-off" which featured Pete Bassman, Pete Kember, Nick Hayden, and maybe Rosco too, but I can't remember off the top of my head. They sounded similar to earlier Spacemen3. Because by that time, Spacemen started to slowly develop into Spiritualized. Where as The Darkside maintained the "original" Rugby sound! Their CDs are out of print. And the live album is a collectors item! "Are You For Real" was one of their best songs
