  • the 'spit' first gets sampled at 0:35 - 1:00

  • the 'spit' goes on at 0:19-0:22

  • I also notice that 'he' daubs saliva on the right and left sides of the bower at head height. Then 'she' either does the same thing or maybe tastes his. Maybe they swap-spit? Could be some sort of scent or taste signal??

  • so do they both think it's their bower?! and aren't these two different kinds of bowerbirds? i hear they vandalize each other's, is that what i'm seeing?

  • Yes, as far as I can understand, this is the bower built by the male (purple one). They are both the same species just the female is a drab brown colour. Not sure about the vandalising? I never saw any stealing behaviour. If you move one of his 'blue things' he comes back and rearranges it pretty damn quick! You can have some fun with this LOL!
