Beghum Akhtar has sang beautifully and that was in a BW movie long ago! cant remember the movie but the context is the heroine waiting for her beloved! Pandit Jasraj has made Haveli Sangeet his own and Raag bihaag was used effectively by R D Burman ji!Pandit Jasraj has made Raag Adaana ( "Mata Kaalika") and other bhajans in other Raagas his own including Raag Darbaari!
I cant sing the same praises even if one of his own desciples like Sanjeev Abhyankar sings "Mata Kaalika!" L O L!

I am a GREAT fan of Pandit Jasraj ji! had the good fortune to listen to him live,and his gharana and the special taan patterns murkis and bol baants sat rather uncomfortably on the shuoulders of THIS composition. His Haveli sangeet Krishna bhajans in Bihag are sang by panditji splendidly! I am just a listner and only say what sounded nice and what didnt! I am not a musicologist! Just my subjective opinions!
