Eritrea is a one-party state. The name of the party, PFDJ (Popular Front for Democracy and Justice), is, in fact, a complete misnomer.

There is neither democracy nor justice in Eritrea, nor, it might be added, is the Front popular. Indeed, the party has lost whatever popular appeal it once had and in strict political parlance it cannot even be called a “front”.

@danmenification Yes very honest, to bad they are known for abuse of human rights. I just saw on the news how they abused some pilot from USA(James Berisha, nationality Kosovo) for 5 months. He was lobbying for recognition of the Republic of Kosovo. He lobbyed with his plane all over the world without problems, until he entered Eritrea, where he got inprisoned and abused for 5months.

@ShitMovies2000 Female Genital Mutilation is a horrible practice that was embedded in Sub-Saharan culture. Thanks to the current Government of Eritrea FGM is completely banned. Eritrea is one of the only countries in the world that are on the right track to accomplishing its Millennium Development Goals. Stop looking for reasons to hate the country, no Government is perfect but Eri is close. Eritrea is independently ruling itself and is slowly fixing all of its problems. Self determination!
