I always wanted to see that. I was too busy watchig the countdown on Ten! :-(
BTW, have a look at 2:00 , the clock turns to midnight but still, no fireworks. ROFL!
The newsreaders must be very willing to give up their new year's eve at work!

um i hate to point this out but the music is from melbourne new year show, not sydney

Thats why it says in the description: Live Fireworks from Sydney and Melbourne. Think you will find the music was just backing music that Sky put in there anyway.

We see Sky UK every night after about 2am till 5:45am on Sky News as the overnight feed.
I'm not sure why you think it looks like its from the 80's though... Sky Aus looks basically the same as Sky UK, and even has newer, remixed theme music.
