I wounder how this battle would have played out if Grand Admiral Thrawn were in command of the Imperial Forces and the Battlestar forces were under Admiral Helena Cain's command.
then the poor colonials never would have made it to ftl cause of Interdictors and shielded TIE interceptors that their Vipers wouldn't be able to scratch even if they managed to hit them, which is a ridiculously huge if.
otherwise the battle goes the same way it would regardless of commanders involved, an Imperial Star Destroyer opens fire and destroys all enemy Battlestars in a single salvo, TIE Interceptors mop up the Vipers and they call it a day.
but I still maintain that they would save the colonials from the Cylons.
I'd love to see a TIE Interceptor just sweep through a Cylon gnat cluster, blow away a squadron or two worth in a single pass and the look on the Viper pilots as they see Cylon Raiders exploding as if hit by missiles,
which they don't normally do when shot with guns (they normally just spin out.)
would love to see Cylon Centurians get melted chunks by Blaster fire too, rather than just have holes and dents in them.
roberto312213 because the Nebuleon-B escort frigate is an Imperial ship, but early on in the days of the Rebellion quite a few ether defected and joined or were captured in raids.
