Large jet PIO - or pilot induced oscillation! It is caused by the pilot severly over correcting and self inducing the landing that you see. This bad landing was not caused by wind or conditions, It was caused by the pilot.
@a330ftw It's fascinating how this "strong wind" is able to throw a 777 around but fails to cause the slightest bit of movement in the windsock - 0:12
@stainless1911 well....that landing was unsafe and that does require remedial training and further verification of the pilot's elegibility for flight. Rgds.
@flchange I agree that the employer should be made aware of safety concerns, but dont can the guy for it. He learned from his mistakes Im sure, and he's undoubtedly a better pilot as a result.
I love when people try to sound like they know what they are talking about on the internetz. Size and wingspan have absolutely nothing to do with PIOs, and the "possibility of a stall" is probably the last thing im thinking about when trying to fix a PIO on landing.

Been there. Done that. Pilot Induced Oscillations are no joke!

@flchange Agreed. As a passenger, I would not have been pleased.

@stainless1911 I notice it does, but it shouldn´t. Such a landing should have been reported to the Aircraft Maintenance Log. It's boeing's policy.
