@GodandLiberty but you have no evidence of what Jesus' teachings were apart from the Bible and have a read of some of the teachings in that, both Old and New Testament, and if you decide that as a whole it is force for good I worry.

The point missed totally by both of these groups (because it was not in any of their interests to say so) was that religion is good, but it is corrupted by men who want to follow their own perversions. How much of the Bible is what Jesus actually said versus the commentary of the authors? Did Jesus go to Rome? Did Jesus use the word 'catholic'? Does Jesus in the Bible allow man to make others into slaves? Presumably not. What both sides advocate are moving away from scripture to MAN-MADE laws.

very little thought seems to be required in this debate- the catholics are condescending and have bad oratory skills. i'm sure they could have got better representatives of their faith but then this does seem like even fate and nature is trying to disprove their arguments.
