Reduce the file size of pdf files using the Apple ColorSync Utility in Mac OS X. You no longer need to use any online file reduction or Adobe products.

  • Notice that the PDF to be reduced is opened with Colorsync and NOT Preview like I did. Using Colorsync this works very well, thank you...

  • @topcoat2001 Once you create the filters in ColorSync, you can access them in Preview.

  • i did on black and white pdf...it actually increased the file size... 4.2 to 4.5

  • @br0bat You need to set the filter at a lower quality than what your pdf already is.

  • does this work for magazine pdf file?

  • @bblove302 It should work for any pdf & most images.
