Analyst interview with Argus Research Senior Energy Analyst Philip Weiss on Chevron Corp (NYSE:CVX).


Chevron reported first quarter earnings on April 30th of $4.55 billion dollars, compared with $1.85 billion in 1Q09. Sales were $47 million dollars. Chevron will report it's second quarter earnings in a couple weeks, on July 30th, with me to discuss what can be expected is Senior Energy Analyst from Argus Research: Philip Weiss. Phil, thank you for taking the time to speak with us today.


Chevron trading down by a fraction of a percent in afternoon trade. Most investors are expecting an upswing from the oil and gas producer. Consensus estimates for the second quarter are an EPS of $2.17 for the quarter, $8.91 for the year, with a target price of $91.50. Phil what is your EPS prediction for the quarter and for the full fiscal year? Price target?


Is Chevron in the running for a BP bid?

CVX already has large exposure to the BP oil spill, with significant positions in the region, along with BP itself and Shell, due to it's involvement in the gulf coast, what impact will this have on CVX and their production? What percentage of their production is from the gulf? What impact does this disaster have on big oil overall in your view?

If I own CVX what do I do, given the moratorium in the Gulf?

Is CVX actively pursuing any alternative energy opportunities to ensure long term sustainiblity in the energy market?
