@BarenakedLadiesLive sorry, but the distinction is that this was not recorded as an a cappella. This is the original recording with the instrumental parts removed. For something to be a cappella, it has to be intended to be without instruments. It means unaccompanied voice, but Ed's voice was accompanied when he recorded this. Removing the instruments doesn't make it a cappella :P But Ed's voice is awesome.

i thought acappella was was when all the instruments are replaced with vocalizations of those instruments. Still cool though.

your use of the term is correct, but people were expecting something other than the vocal track from the original song... frankly so was I. But your point (about this isolated track demonstrating Ed's talent) is also correct. Ed has a great, very expressive voice.

God, Ed is so amazing. Despite the fact that I was kind of hoping for a 'true' a capella (voices as instruments) this gives me a good chance to practice the guitar part without having the original in the way.
