Side by side test of a few simple things between a solid state drive and a standard 5400rpm hard drive. Both are 13.3" macbook pro unibody.

The SSD is the 60gb corsair force F60. Both laptops got a fresh install of snow leopard before this video was recorded and the SSD is brand new, never used before this video.

  • i like the ssd drives but they are so small and so expensive

  • my early 2011 mbp with hdd is as fast as your ssd at boot up. wtf :D

  • very impressive. is this another sandforce base drive from corsair? i read through several reviews that these drive are great with macs because of their "garbage collection" feature, as mac os currently lack trim support. any how, have you had any performance issues, etc.? will appreciate your comments. thanks.

  • Do you have any benchmark tests of it like xbench?

I got a F60 too but in my benchmark the max read is 160mb/s and the max write is 125mb/s. But isn't the F60 supposed to have 285mb/s read, and 270mb/s write ?

Is there something wrong with mine ?

    Help pleaseee!

  • very good test!
