World champion free-diver Tanya Streeter has a genuine fear of sharks. To conquer this phobia she travels to the Maldives in search of the biggest shark in the world. Initially horrified she goes on to face her first ever night-time free-dive in shark-infested seas, meets the bizarre leopard shark and encounters a shoal of gigantic manta rays. Finally she swims with the biggest shark of them all, the colossal whale shark.

  • Just look at her eyes, she looks right freakin stoned; like she just smoked a big fatty with the camera man before suiting up.

  • good special

  • i grew up in the maldives, and still go back there every year. thankfully, i had the sense to get a diving license once i got a bit older, and now i go diving with sharks when and where possible when i'm back home. currently a zoology major in college, and planning to make shark conservation my field of work. money's not gonna be too good, but meh. just look at them. these fish deserve saving a lot more than most humans do.

  • You're angry at other divers invading a shark's 'personal space' and yet you're quite happy to whiz around in motor boats above other fish, not to mention the cost to the environment of all the aeroplanes and motor boats to get you and your crew to the sharks in the Maldives.

Engines aside, it was brilliant footage and I wish I could free dive like the lovely Tanya. I can only get down about five meters!

  • hey she does not even seem scared?

  • I'll be honest. I'm in absolute envy of her.

  • I know how to survive if a great white is circiling you!

Step 1.Grab your pen knife and cut a huge bleeding hole in your arm!

Step 2.Get on your surfboard and swim deeper!

    Step 3.Die

  • @djfri3ndly

it's the same in most tourist places - the whordes will pile in and have no apprciation for what they are doing.

I wish there was an epidemic only affecting people with an IQ of less than 140.

Mobbing wildlife just for the sake of it is indefensible.

  • She doesn't seem scared of them at all ...

Very interesting. But she's a bit irritating.
