  • I must agree... Greg is one of, if not THE most unique and interesting drummer in the scene today. I'd say he's certainly the most passionate: just look at him go!

  • re: chippendale and hill, don't get me wrong--I've seen lightning bolt and hella many times, and I think they are both incredible, but I still think greg saunier is perhaps a bit more inventive and multi-faceted. it's a moot point though--all 3 are clearly genius drummers, as is weasel walter.

  • A great performance. I saw them a year or two ago and didn't feel the sort of manic energy that is all over this clip and which made their album reveille their best. I think the drummer replaced his ride cymbal sounds with a closed hi-hat and destroyed all the tension.

  • i'm such a deerhoof geek that i watched this video 3 times today ! that guitar improv at the beginning is sick!

  • And after meeting him, I can easily say he's one of the nicest drummers on the planet, too.

    Very cool guy.

  • what about brian chippendale and zach hill

  • absolutely kills. fucking amazing guitar interplay. and greg is without question the most interesting drummer on the planet, outside of perhaps weasel walter.
