Amy Winehouse Anti-Drug Poster Sparks Fury

Hi guys, you're watching ClevverMusic, I'm Bridget Daly. News just broke about a poster in Switzerland that's causing a major controversy because it uses Amy Winehouse's image. It's an anti-drug poster from a Swiss political party called the SVP, who created the ad in hopes to create awareness about the dangers of using illegal drugs. The poster reads: "No - to the decriminalization of drugs", and shows a particularly bad photo of Amy from the side.
The party president doesn't see anything wrong with it either. He said, "Amy's death put a sad reality before our eyes that other parties often forget - the harmful effects of drug consumption. We are displaying a photo that the whole world already knows. Winehouse was known not only for her songs, but above all for her drug excesses." Seems a little harsh, and way too soon to be honest! soldiers die everyday and yet people find it okay to poke fun at a Iraq. yes, i get it. she was a great musician. i loved her, you loved her, we all loved her. but it seems to me like we weight the lives of someone we barely knew higher than those of our brothers and sisters that fight to protect us and our rights.

Yeah guys we know how Amy died. Instead of going to rehab she tried to quit cold turkey and died from withdrawal, so yes it was drugs.

I love how everyones shocked and sad she died. Really? SHe was more famous for her Drug Abuse then her singing. She was like the steve irwin of drugs. Everyone knew the drugs were gonna kill her, just didnt know when. Get over it shes not even that great.

Oh come on! It's not even official that she died from that! They shouldn't use her image like that, especially if she's dead. That like putting Michael Jackson on a Child Molestation poster (excuse spelling). There's no proof he did it. So they shouldn't.

What i think is they should of at least gotten permission from the family...

I know media usualy doesnt ask family for dead celebs but for something like this with a picture like that i think they really should of

@kias3290 No offense, but I guess this would upset people more because people liked her music. The only people who really feel the misfortune of the deaths of soldiers are their loved ones. But Amy was different because people who didn't know her liked her music so they feel a bigger connection to her than soldiers.

Of course, I understand your point perfectly. But as human beings, we give the lives of people who mean more to us more weight.
