The comet didn't actually destroy all land. The dust cloud from the impact blocked out the sun and caused a nuclear winter. Then the corium in the comet cause a nuclear summer which melted all of the snow plus the polar ice caps. This raised the sea level by 11 meters. What little land was left was inhabitable due to fallout.

Is there still a plan to restart the company? Where was the article that talked about. Over the past few years I have periodically searched for information about Ellipse studio and it's creators, but I never came across this information. Really hoping for a ST2 or any RTS made by these developers. The care they put into this game was impressive. The detailed handbook, great editor for its time, and detailed story... Wish more games now had this level of detail.

I've still got this game. It's awsome! Would anyone consider a multiplayer match one day?
