The most gut-wrenching music there is. Memories of my buddies and their families.

@cowboybill117 that is actually one of the myths of the origin of Taps. there is a video documentary here on youtube that covers the origin of Taps-the music and the name of it. the account between the union soldier and a dead confederate soldier (the union soldier's son) is a myth that was made popular by Ripley's Believe It or Not TV show.

Taps has a long history also, look it up. About a father and son ,one a yankee the other a reb.

search "the star spangled banner like you've never hear it" if you find the right one it's like 11 minutes long explaining how are national anthem was created and the significance of it all. Really adds meaning

I went to one memorial service when I was in the Army. When his 7-months-pregnant wife up in the front lost it, most of the rest of us did too. I hope I never have to go to one of those again.

i just wish that they made a law for all schools to show the history of the flag..and its meaning..and why there is moment of silence..and it bugs the crap out of me when the media always says stuff that is bad in iraq..its..actually not that bad..

I've taken my boys there twice to see why they have what we Americans have, 13 and 16 and they get it. why doesn't the media in this Country get it?

thank you veterans one and all, we honor you today; 11-11 and every day
I break into tear whenever I hear TAPS. Being a military man I have heard that tune all too many tiumes and it hurts just as bad every time.
