don't know if somebody already said that: if you're going to go on a long trekk and you know that you gonna have to clean your butt like this: shave your intimate area before you go on the trail. if you are a girl or somebody without much butthair - ignore this :)

what I learned on an expedition in Namibia is basically the same (allthough we did use toiletpaper and then burned it) and then after covering everything up, we were told to stick a stick in, so that people would know and not walk right into it or dig it up again...

I went on a several week-long back packing expedition during my youth and we learned some of these techniques. However, one thing that is not covered that I feel that many could benefit from is this: After you go poo poo, find a large rock. Drop the rock over your poo poo to further cover it. MAKE SURE THAT THE ROCK IS LARGER THAN YOUR POO POO OR ELSE THE POO POO WILL SPILL OUT OF THE SIDES, resulting in a fecal Hurricane Katrina.
