Okay the HBK2 is officially crap, here is the 450 my first attempts at hovering after setting up following finless bob's videos. It has just a bit too much power for a noob like me at the moment. I need to take things slowe. You'll see in a future video the first crash, I don't even know how to nose/side in hover yet.

  • The HBK2 is not crap, I have one, fling like you in that video and i'm just starting, the only thing wrong on th hbk2 is the gyro and when I replaced it for a HH gyro everything changed now it flies great and I love it

  • yeah I never changed the gyro it would make a big difference, but the plastic parts are poor quality, get a TREX and you'll see the difference in quality and in flight.

  • T-Rex is a really well built heli eh. I got one of each from the 450SE V2 right up to the new 700 that just came out this year. LOVE flying 3D with the 700, maybe you will graduate to one some day.

  • awesome. I'm on the virge of getting a TREX 500 but I'm still getting used to the 450 so I might hold off, not sure! Was park flying today fast forward flight and nose in that's where I'm at.

  • Ya stick to the 450 for a nice bit until you are really comfortable with it as the 500 can tend to be alot of heli for the inexperienced.

  • I keep crashing the 450 so will stick with it for a while, but learning flips and inverted now so all is nice.

  • Fixed since the crash so tracking may be out now! Waiting for the weather to improve, until then I've been practising nose in hovering in Phoenix - don't know when I will attempt that in reality.

  • Good job, she looks well setup. I couldn't get a good look at the tracking but she seems fine. I look forward to the FF. You are 100% correct about the Align heli's being in a different league to the HoneyBee's but then the HB is a GREAT learner. I Still recommend them to beginners (for cost reasons)

  • They are worlds apart Jaspo, the reason is quality electronics, quality build (strong), a quality gyro and tail servo (add-ons) and no slop in the head, you want 11 degrees pitch you get 11 degress pitch! DX6i is great too having full control over throttle and pitch curves, expo etc. to tame it for a noob (I need to tame it some more) it has huge climb out power and gets away from me quick.

  • You are doing great, how is the 450SE compared to the HBK2? I'm still in the 'learning to hover' stage. Check out my 2 vids.
