  • I really like your video animation ever consider doing a movie yourself? I've been wanting to do computer animation myself but can't afford the software still saving for the latest version of Lightwave 3d 10, but that's not likely to happen for some time since I'm unemployed on a budget! For now it's just a pipe dream but it makes me happy that someone without a Hollywood can make good animation keep up the good work, but please make more scifi videos I want to see more!

  • @blameist Hey, thanks! I've not thought about any full-length features, or even anything longer than the several second shots I've already done. I have way too much to learn about animating in general, and then writing before I can think about anything more complex.

  • Wow man! I saw this movie in theaters when I was five and never thought it could look better, I was wrong! EXCELLENT WORK!

  • @Trendkillertrendy Thanks! I actually found an even better model, but haven't uploaded the revised flik.

  • The V'Ger 'cloud' effect is much better here than in the actual film (I think the effects people were rushed for time on many of the sequences in 1979). Also love the detail on the Klingon cruisers and the different fly-by perspective. Really great work.

    Is there any more?

  • @DOMuricu Unfortunately, no, that's it. I made the cloud myself, but the cruisers were, as noted, made by someone else. I did a little cleanup on them, however.

  • Are you going to post more video? This is incredibly awesome looking!

  • i like your vger cloud - when you see it for the first time youre supposed be in awe , sadly the film version isnt quite awe-ful but it isnt jaw dropping . with your version you want to see more of the cloud and whats inside

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing work..

  • @Galacticadude When 2001 & Silient Running came out thought Doug Trumbull had set 'standard' for "spaceships' would look in future science fiction films; alas, not the case---always been a fan of the OST but disappointed with all the ST Films except the Whale one (however; had HUGE LOGIC HOLES) & also looked 'pushed together'...what really brothers me with all Sci Fi films since SR is they either try to look like 1940s crap or are of jr high school level acting/script writing.

  • Deserves HD! Agreed?

  • This one was done very well.

  • @blameist Have you considered Blender? It's freeware and can be used to create pretty decent CGI animation and computer games. It's actually pretty amazing, especially considering it's free. The only catch is the learning curve is pretty steep. If you search around on YT you can find some examples of Blender CGI. Also Maya has a free version. The catch to the Maya free version is that it places a watermark on the rendered animation, but that's a fair tradeoff for free access to the software.

  • This is the best CGI model I've seen! Great work!
